Mushroom Embroidered Cloth
The Shipibo-Conibo nation dwells in the heart of the Amazon rainforest in Peru, and is well-known for their ancestral plant medicine and Ayahuasca rituals, but also for their traditional embroidery, jewelry and pottery. The unique designs and patterns they use, called KENE, represent the inner energy of all living beings, and are a reflection of their visions during their sacred rituals.
These circular Kene cloths are one-of-a-kind works of art. They have been hand-embroidered by the women of a Shipibo-Conibo tribe living in the San Francisco village, in Pucallpa, Peru. The Shipibo people believe the KENE have healing properties for the space where they are placed and the people who inhabit it. Place it as an altar cloth, or frame it and hang it on the wall.
